TOKYO (Jan. 6, 2014) — Bridgestone Corp. claims it has developed technology for estimating tire wear and tread depth using sensors attached to the inside of tires that monitor changes in tread condition during normal driving.
Bridgestone said the technology, which is based on the Contact Area Information Sensing (CAIS*1) concept, analyzes information from the sensors to estimate treadwear conditions and provide drivers with real-time monitoring of tire conditions
