DETROIT (Jan. 6, 2015) — Mercedes-Benz USA L.L.C. is moving its headquarters to metro Atlanta from Montvale, N.J., according to WSB–TV Channel 2, which confirmed the news Jan. 5 on its website.
The site for the building hasn't been announced, but it could bring up to 1,000 jobs to the area. WSB–TV said that Mercedes was looking at both North Carolina and Georgia for the new location, and that it was offered incentives to stay in New Jersey as well.
Mercedes moved to Montvale in 1973 from its original headquarters in Fort Lee, N.J.
An official announcement could come as early as today. Autoweek has contacted Mercedes about the WSB report and is awaiting confirmation.
