Hankook names Ahn president of America unit

Hee-se Ahn, president, Hankook Tire America Corp., and COO for Hankook's business operations throughout the Americas.

WAYNE, N.J. (Jan. 5, 2015) — Hankook Tire Co. Ltd. has named Hee-se Ahn president of Hankook Tire America Corp.

Mr. Ahn, who will be based at Hankook Tire America's headquarters in Wayne, also will serve as COO for the company's business operations throughout the Americas.

He began his career with Hankook in 1986 at the tire maker's headquarters in Seoul, South Korea. He has held positions as

managing director of Hankook's Dubai office; vice president of marketing and sales at Hankook Tire's China headquarters; and most recently was vice president of marketing and sales at Hankook Tire's European headquarters.

“I am honored to lead Hankook Tire America Corp. as we grow brand equity and strengthen market leadership in the tire industry and America market.” Mr. Ahn said. “With our products, performance and quality, Hankook Tire America Corp. will play a major role in establishing the Hankook brand to be the American consumers' most loved tire brand.”

Hankook did not say what happened to Byeong Jin Lee, president of Hankook Tire America and COO of the Americas businesses since January 2013.
