Conti buys tire mold maker AZ Formen

RUNDING, Germany (Dec. 18, 2014) — The shareholders of AZ Formen- und Maschinenbau G.m.b.H. have sold their interest in the tire mold and machinery maker to Continental A.G. for an undisclosed price.

The sale includes AZ Formen's plants in Runding and Czech Republic. Continental at this time declined to discuss its reasons for buying AZ Formen.

The company, a producer of tire molds and containers, tire regroovers and other special machinery, employs about 320 between the two factories. It has been in business for more than 75 years.
