EUCLID, Ohio—The Greater Cleveland Tire Dealers Association is no longer in existence.
Raymond Adamowicz, former executive secretary of the association, told Tire Business that the dealer group, previously located in Euclid, closed down last August due to a lack of membership. Mr. Adamowicz is retired from Myers Industries Inc.
He added that there seems to be fewer independent tire dealers operating these days and the ones who are are “huge” in size.
Many of the Cleveland association's previous members have passed away or sold their businesses, Mr. Adamowicz said, so there was no longer a need for the group.
The association was founded in 1957 by Joseph Russo of Almira Tire & Supply.
