TreadWright, Bridgestone settle suit

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Dec. 4, 2014) — Light truck tire retreading specialists TreadWright L.L.C./TreadWright Tires L.L.C. of Houston has agreed to stop selling two lines of retreaded light truck tires as part of a settlement reached with Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations L.L.C., according to the tire maker.

Bridgestone filed a lawsuit on April 17 in U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, alleging TreadWright and TreadWright Tires infringed on the licensed patented tire tread pattern used for

Bridgestone's Dueler A/T Revo tire.

The suit targeted TreadWright's “Watchman” line of retreaded light truck tires.

The tire maker sought damages and a permanent injunction against TreadWright.

In a news release, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations said it is committed to protecting its intellectual property and will take court action to dispute any unauthorized use or infringement of its patents, trademarks and other intellectual property.

TreadWright has not yet commented publicly on the case.
