SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2014) — California's Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) is offering $823,747 in grants to California local governments, school districts and other potential applicants in the 2014-15 Tire-Derived Product (TDP) Grant Program.
The TDP program, according to the CalRecycle website, is designed to promote markets for recycled-content products derived from waste tires generated in California.
Under the program guidelines, applicants must use a minimum of 2,500 California-generated passenger tire equivalents (PTE). Applicants may also combine two or more projects to reach the 2,500-PTE minimum, CalRecycle said. The maximum grant allowed in the program is $150,000 per project.
Applications for TDP grants are due by Dec. 4.
