BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (Nov. 11, 2014) — Hennessy Industries Inc.'s BADA wheel weights manufacturing facility in Bowling Green was recently named, for the third time, a recipient of General Motors Co.'s 2014 Supplier Quality Excellence Award.
The BADA plant also has won the award in 2012 and 2013.
“BADA employees are responsible for our sustained success and good relationship with GM,” said Kevin Keefe, vice president of services and sales support for Hennessy. “BADA products are outstanding in their performance, and they are a reflection of our top-performing staff. We're grateful to have been recognized by GM once again with this honor.”
GM first launched its Supplier Quality Excellence Award in 2012 to recognize suppliers that have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance on an annual basis.
Hennessy's Bowling Green facility has supplied the auto maker with steel wheel weights for use in passenger vehicle manufacturing in North America and beyond since 2005.
Andrew Freeman, quality manager for the BADA Bowling Green plant, called the award was a validation of the high-quality work being done at the plant every day. “GM is an industry standard, and being recognized by them again is a great honor.
“We believe that we are the premier supplier of lead-free wheel weights, and this award puts a firm foundation under that belief.”
Earlier this year Sears Holdings Corp. recognized Hennessy's BADA wheel weight business with a 2014 “Partners in Transformation Award” for its implementation of a closed-loop recycling program.
La Vergne, Tenn.-based Hennessy manufactures wheel-service equipment including COATS tire changers and wheel balancers, AMMCO brake lathes and lifts and BADA wheel-balancing weights.
