WASHINGTON (Nov. 7, 2014) — The Tire Industry Association (TIA) has designated Thursday, Feb. 5 as Federal Lobby Day.
On that day TIA has invited members to come to Washington, D.C., and speak directly with members of Congress on political issues important to tire dealers.
Federal Lobby Day will consist of meetings with members of Congress and their staffs, a luncheon with congressional leaders, and an evening cocktail reception on Capitol Hill, TIA said.
Several associations allied with TIA will collaborate on the event, including the American Highway Users Alliance, the WMDA/CAR Service Station and Automotive Repair Association, and the Service Station Dealers of America and Allied Trades.
Particularly with the results of the recent election, TIA Executive Vice President Roy Littlefield said it is vital for tire dealers and retreaders to make their concerns known to Congress, and Federal Lobby Day is designed to do just that.
“The highway bill is one of the top issues we're facing, so it will be the primary focus of our efforts at this event,” Mr. Littlefield said.
To register for Federal Lobby Day or obtain more information about the event, contact Roy Littlefield IV, TIA government affairs manager, at [email protected] or call 301-430-7280 ext. 137.
