LAS VEGAS (Nov. 6, 2014) – Brake Parts Inc. named Brian Williams of Lynchburg, Va., the grand prize winner of its 1971 Chevrolet Camaro RS “G-Machine” sweepstakes during the Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas.
Mr. Williams netted the 700-plus horsepower car, which was custom-built by Schwartz Performance in Woodstock, Ill. It features a Schwartz-modified GM LS3 V8 engine with SLP supercharger, mated to a Tremec six-speed manual transmission and a severe-duty Moser 9-inch rear axle, Brake Parts said.
The Schwartz team prepared the Raybestos Camaro with a performance disc brake upgrade package including Element3 brake pads, which Brake Parts said feature the “best attributes of both ceramic and semi-metallic friction materials in a single, hybrid compound.”
In addition to the car, Mr. Williams received a trip for two to Las Vegas and admission to both AAPEX and the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show.
