Former NHTSA head to speak at AAPEX

    BETHESDA, Md. (Oct. 28, 2014) — David Strickland, former head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), will take part in a seminar at the upcoming Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo (AAPEX) titled, “NHTSA Safety and Regulatory Plans: What is Coming Down the Pike?”

    Mr. Strickland's appearance — from 11 a.m. to noon on Nov. 4 at the Venetian Hotel in Marco Polo Rooms 706-707 — is part of the AAPEX Education Sessions (AAPEXedu), which include 50 presentations over three days at the Venetian.

    Mr. Strickland will provide an insider's view into the agency's priorities and initiatives and also will provide tips to attendees on how to work with NHTSA to insure a proper hearing for their issues, according to the Auto Care Association.

    Before he was appointed as the 14th Administrator of NHTSA, Mr. Stickland was senior counsel for U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation for eight years. He now works at Venable L.L.C.'s regulatory practice group in Washington, D.C.
