WHITEVILLE, N.C.Black's Tire & Auto Service's 14th Annual Charity Golf Tournament raised a record $85,934 for the Boys and Girls Homes of North Carolina.
We are proud to lend our support to the efforts of the Homes, said Ricky Benton, Black's Tire co-owner. The children who receive care there have a chance to better themselves.
The tournament was held Sept. 5 at Long Bay Golf Club in Longs, S.C., with 125 participants. The golf outing was part of a weekend of celebration and charitable work as Black's Tire marked its 85th anniversary.
The celebration, according to the Whiteville-based dealership, included a Family Day with food, games, competitions and music at the Boys and Girls Homes Farm and Exhibition Center for the Black's Tire staff and family, vendors and customers and the children and staff of Boys and Girls Homes.
