TOKYO — Bridgestone Corp. presented top awards to its plants in Poznan, Poland, and Cuernavaca, Mexico, at its annual, in-house total quality management (TQM) conference.
The conference, held on Sept. 12 in Kodaira, Tokyo, was the fifth staging of the event intended to further improvement activities throughout the tire and rubber products group worldwide.
A total of 15 improvement activities across various functions — such as production, sales and service — were presented and the activities were judged according to how well on-site needs were addressed.
The Polish and Mexican sites were among three to earn the newly introduced grand prize — the third going to the Bridgestone Tire Japan Co. Ltd. operation in Japan. The company did not provide details of the award-winning TQM activities.
The 2014 conference was attended by more than 270 Bridgestone employees from countries, including Japan, the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Belgium, Italy, Poland, China, Thailand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and South Africa.
