LAS VEGAS (Oct. 20, 2014) — The Specialty Equipment Markets Association (SEMA) and Tire Industry Association (TIA) are reminding those who plan to attend the 2014 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to vote in their local elections, either by absentee ballot or via early voting, since election day, Nov. 4, takes place during SEMA Show week.
The SEMA Action Network (SAN), a nationwide partnership of vehicle clubs, enthusiasts and members of the specialty auto parts industry who want to protect their hobby, have set up a Web page that allows users to find out local election guidelines by zip code.
Founded in 1997, SAN was designed to help stamp out legislative threats to the automotive hobby and lobby elected officials to pass favorable laws.
SAN counts on the support of 3,000-plus car clubs, thousands of individual contacts, and 100-plus publications, with an estimated reach of 36 million automotive enthusiasts nationwide.
Among SAN's activities: Sending out action alerts to generate an abundance of responses to state and/or federal legislative actions and regulatory proposals; and issuing timely updates of legislative and regulatory developments.
