Hercules launches premium SUV tire

FINDLAY, Ohio (Oct. 17, 2014) — Hercules Tire & Rubber Co. is adding the Terra Trac Cross-V, a premium tire for SUVs, light trucks and crossover vehicles (CUV), to its Terra Trac line.

The new tire is offered in 24 SUV/CUV sizes and eight light truck sizes with rim diameters ranging from 16 to 20 inches, Hercules said. SUV/CUV sizes are backed by a 70,000-mile/112,000-kilometer limited warranty, while light truck sizes feature a 65,000-mile/105,000-kilometer warranty.

The Terra Trac Cross-V provides users with a “sought-after mix of wear-resistance, all-weather traction and low-rolling resistance,” the Findlay-based private brander added.

“The CUV, SUV and light truck markets are on the rise again. Unfortunately, many dealers have a gap in their product screen when it comes to offering CUV or SUV drivers a tire that delivers performance, longevity and value. The Terra Trac Cross-V finally fills that gap,” said Joshua Simpson, vice president of marketing for Hercules.

According to Hercules, features of the tire include high-grade compound materials and a tread design that work in tandem to deliver wear resistance and durability; all-weather, all-road traction as a result of micro-wave siping, an open shoulder design and unique water guard; and an advanced silica compound.

All sizes feature road hazard protection and are included in Hercules' exclusive 30-day "Trust Our Ride" test drive program.

Hercules did not identify the line's manufacturer or country of origin.
