DENVER (Oct. 16, 2014) — Internet/mail order tire distributor Tire Rack Inc. has opened a distribution center in Denver, its seventh warehouse nationwide, to improve service to customers in the region.
The 150,000-sq.-ft. distribution center is located east of downtown Denver, with close access to Interstate 70. As with Tire Rack's other warehouses, the one in Denver will offers local consumers the ability to place and pick up online or telephone orders the same day.
“Throughout its 35-year history, TireRack.com has focused on providing accessible options and tools for stress-free purchase decisions, including reliable and real-world testing information, and quick delivery of their order,” said Matt Edmonds, vice president.
“We're glad to now be able to offer drivers in the greater Denver area the ability to pick up their orders the same day they place them.”
TireRack's other distribution centers are in Windsor, Conn.; New Castle, Del.; Midway, Ga.; Shreveport, La.; McCarran, Nev.; and at the firm's headquarters in South Bend, Ind. This is the first new warehouse to open since 2009, when the firm opened a 300,000-sq.-ft. center in Windsor.
The company stocks more than 20 tire and 55 wheel brands, including top-rated winter tires, which it claims it can deliver anywhere in the country, most in one business day.
Recent-vintage television commercials stated the firm keeps more than 1 million tires in stock.
Tire Rack is leasing the property from United Properties L.L.C., which developed the property.
Family-owned Tire Rack describes itself as America's largest independent tire tester and consumer-direct source for tires, wheels and performance accessories. The company conducts extensive testing of tires at its 11.7-acre test facility adjacent to the headquarters and posts the results on its website, www.tirerack.com.
