NEW YORK (Oct. 10, 2014) — Mercedes-Benz USA L.L.C. is recalling more than 10,500 C-class sedans in the U.S. from the 2015 model year because a production error causes steering wheels to squeak and resist turning.
The problem was initially noticed in September in two vehicles in Europe, according to Donna Boland, a spokeswoman for the car maker. The “steering coupling interlock” was in an open position, when it should have been released from the European factory locked.
