SAN DIEGO (Oct. 7, 2014) — The American Trucking Associations (ATA) has extended the contract of President and CEO Bill Graves through at least 2017, the association said during its Management Conference and Exhibition in San Diego this week.
Mr. Graves has been the group's president and CEO since 2003 after serving two terms as governor of Kansas.
“Under Gov. Graves' leadership, ATA has undertaken a number of initiatives to position the association as the leader in advocacy on behalf of trucking and transportation,” ATA Chairman Phil Byrd said. “We are thrilled that he will remain as the face of our advocacy in Washington for the foreseeable future.”
During Mr. Graves' term at the ATA, the federation has advanced a strong agenda of safety, essentiality and sustainability in Washington, the ATA said.
“I am tremendously proud of what we have accomplished at ATA in my almost 12 years here,” Mr. Graves said. “And I am excited to see what we can accomplish in the coming years.”
