BOSTON (Oct. 1, 2014) — Wholesale distributor Max Finkelstein Inc. has opened a warehouse distribution center in Boston, its first in Massachusetts, and is scouting locations in south New Jersey to serve the Philadelphia metro area.
The leased 115,000-sq.-ft. warehouse, the company's 12th throughout the Northeast, reinforces Max Finkelstein's commitment to servicing its New England customers, the company said.
“We are very excited to enhance our business within the Boston marketplace,” said Brian Finkelstein, director of sales for the region. “This venture proves to be another example of how we strive to provide the highest level of service to our customers.”
Finkelstein previously served customers in the Boston metro area with once-daily deliveries from warehouses in South Windsor, Conn., and Lewiston, Maine. The newest one is in south Boston near I-95. The center opens with 10 delivery trucks and 20 employees, according to the company.
This is the third new warehouse for Max Finkelstein in less than a year. Last year it opened a 70,000-sq.-ft. facility in Rochester, N.Y., in December and an 80,000-sq.-ft. leased warehouse in Fairfield, N.J., in October.
Finkelstein said the recent expansions reflect the growing need for twice-daily deliveries to help customers deal with the proliferation of sizes and types in the market.
The wholesaler services more than 4,000 customers throughout a dozen states from Maryland to Maine with a fleet of more than 100 service trucks.
In its 95th year in business, the company is the dealer liaison for four manufacturers' marketing programs: Goodyear G3Xpress and G3Xpress Commercial; Pirelli FasTrack; and Kumho Premium Fuel.
Astoria, N.Y.-based Finkelstein's other centers are in Binghamton, Long Island City, Ronkonkoma and Croton on Hudson, N.Y.; Dayton, N.J.; Reading, Pa., and Randolph Center, Vt.
Its brand portfolio includes Goodyear-, Dunlop-, Kelly-, Pirelli-, Kumho-, Aeolus-, Centara-, Wind Power-, Goodride-, Venezia- and Carlisle-brand products.
