ANKENY, Iowa (Sept. 26, 2014) — Car-X Tire & Auto Service franchisee Mark Goldner has opened his seventh Car-X location, in Ankeny, a northern suburb of Des Moines.

The Ankeny store has 10 bays and is capable of repairing all makes and models, including diesel and hybrid vehicles, according to Car-X.

“Mark is one of our visionary franchisees providing outstanding customer service,” said Rich Brayer, Car-X vice president of marketing. “He has a 26-year history of great performance at Car-X.”

The new Car-X outlet in Arkeny, Iowa, features 10 service bays.

In 1988, Mr. Goldner partnered with Car-X in Des Moines as store manager and inventory manager. As the business grew, he moved into a supervisor role, where the franchisor said he helped to grow the business.

Mr. Goldner and his wife purchased the business in 2008 and have been operating and building the Car-X brand to six locations in the Des Moines area and one in Ames, Iowa, according to the franchiser.

    His new outlet will be open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday thru Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sundays, Car-X said.

Schaumberg, Ill.-based Car-X was founded in 1971 by a group of muffler shop owners, and during its early years it was primarily an exhaust specialist. Today Car-X locations perform complete auto maintenance services—from regular tune-ups to emergency repairs, timing belts, hoses and brakes—and sell tires through 149 locations.

The franchise chain, along with Tuffy Tire & Auto, are owned by Tuffy Associates Corp. and Car-X Associates Corp. Together, the two franchise programs comprise 351 outlets.
