MONROE, Mich. (Sept. 22, 2014) — Tenneco Inc. has introduced free mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android mobile devices that connects consumers and auto service providers to the Walker emissions control brand and its products.
The app—available through Google Play, the Apple App Store and on Tenneco's Walker website—includes a VIN scanner; a library of technical and troubleshooting videos; a dealer locator; an e-Catalog; and other features for auto service techs looking for Walker emissions control products for a repair, the company said.
“Within seconds, you can determine what product you need for your repair, compare detailed emissions specifications and view timely troubleshooting videos,” said Denise Hanefeld, marketing coordinator for the Walker brand for Tenneco. “The new Walker app is an exciting step for our trade partners who are interested in ways to streamline their emissions repairs.”
The VIN scanner allows the user to scan the vehicle identification number and locate the specific Walker EPA- or CARB-compliant converters needed for the repair. After the user scans the VIN, the app takes the user to the Walker product catalog for that specific vehicle, displaying the Walker products available and providing detailing information specific to the application.
The app also provides direct access to videos included in the Walker technical library.
The dealer locator uses the mobile device's GPS signal or the manual entry of city, state or ZIP code to determine the nearest parts retailer or automotive service location. The app provides a prompt to allow the user to call the retailer or service location and includes a mapping feature, according to Tenneco.
