M.Thompson expands ET drag tire line

STOW, Ohio (Sept. 10, 2014) — Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels has expanded its ET Drag tire line with the addition of size 31.25/12.2-15W, #3073ST.

Engineered with the M5 compound, the new size addition has a stiffer sidewall for higher horsepower and stick shift applications, according to the company, a unit of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.

“The new 31.25/12.2-15W is the next innovation in our ‘Big Tire' series,” said Jason Moulton, product development manager for Mickey Thompson.

“These tires are engineered for today's high horsepower race cars and clutch setups, and developed with our proven race tire technology.”

Established in 2007, the Big Tire Development Program is a collaborative effort between real-world competitors and the Mickey Thompson research and development team resulting in continued drag tire and wheel product advancements, the company said.
