BETHESDA, Md. (Sept. 10, 2014) — Nominations for the Car Care Council Women's Board's “Woman of the Year Awards” are due by Oct. 3.
The board presents these awards, dedicated to female shop owners, during the Women's Board Reception, held on Nov. 4 at 5 p.m. at the Automotive Aftermarket Parts Expo at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas. The board will also be giving away the Automotive Communication Awards and present the $5,000 Becky Babcox Women's Board Scholarship during the reception.
The council said anyone is welcome to attend the reception.
Paula Lombard, WEXCO Industries/AutoTex Pink, was the recipient of the 2013 Aftermarket Woman of the Year and Diane Larson, Larson's Service Inc., was the 2013 Female Service Shop Owner of the Year recipient. The first award to a woman in the industry was in 2004.
This year marks a change in the name of the awards, including an additional award. Participants can nominate individuals in the following categories: Auto Care Woman of the Year; Female Shop Owner of the Year; and Auto Care Woman of Excellence. There will be separate winners for each award.
