CYPRESS, Calif. (Sept. 9, 2014) — Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp. has begun shipping the Versado Noir, a premium all-season touring tire for sedans and coupes that offers extended tread life and improved fuel economy.
The tire, which replaces the Versado LX and LX II, launches in 21 sizes in the U.S. ranging from 195/60R15 to 245/45R18 and in H- and V-speed ratings, fitting most popular cars. Among the targeted vehicles are the Audi A6, BMW 3-series, Cadillac CTS, Lexus LS460 and Toyota Camry, Toyo said.
Toyo said the Versado Noir offers more than 30 percent more tread life than a leading competitor — according to third-party testing that can be found on toyotires.com — plus improved fuel efficiency and a quiet, comfortable ride throughout the life of the tire.
H-rated versions come with a 75,000-mile warranty, while V-rated tires carry a 65,000-mile warranty. The Noir is eligible for the Toyo Tires No Regrets 45-Day/500-Mile Trial Offer. It carries a Uniform Tire Quality Grading rating of 620 AA.
The Versado Noir features a proprietary silica compound, Toyo said, that increases tread life while also enhancing wet performance and improving fuel efficiency. Additionally, Toyo's exclusive Silent Wall technology in the tread grooves reduces pipe resonance, the audible whirring sound caused by air rushing through the tread channels while a tire travels along the road.
The distinctive asymmetric tread pattern of the Versado Noir has rigid outside tread blocks which act as a sound wall for a quieter ride, and stabilize the tread for improved wear while being tuned for responsiveness. Sipes also extend into the main grooves on the outside of the tread to improve performance in the snow. The inner portion of the tread has a higher sipe density to further improve traction in both the rain and snow.
Multi-wave sipes are another complex molding feature found with the Versado Noir design, which decrease tread block movement, Toyo said, and keep more of the tire tread in contact with the road surface.
“Our new Versado Noir offers uncompromised luxury, longevity and all-season performance for many of today's popular cars,” said Roy Bromfield, chief operating officer, Toyo Tire U.S.A. Corp.
Toyo first launched the Versado line in 2007 with the LX.
