MADISON, Ind. (Sept. 8, 2014) — Automotive lift maker Vehicle Service Group (VSG) has named Niclas Ytterdahl president, effective immediately.

The company said Mr. Ytterdahl will report to Andy Fincher, president and CEO of VSG parent Dover Corp.'s Engineered Systems segment.

Mr. Ytterdahl previously served as senior vice president of global sourcing for Dover. Prior to joining the firm, he was vice president of global strategic sourcing at AES Corp., where he led the restructuring of AES' global supply chain, global solid fuel supply and risk management capabilities, according to VSG. Previously, he served as vice resident of operations and general manager at Fisher Scientific International Inc. (now Thermo Fisher Scientific).

He will assume the role left vacant following the promotion of the prior VSG president, Gary Kennon, to the post of executive vice president of Dover's Engineered Systems unit.

“Niclas has extensive industry experience and a solid background in operations and supply chain management,” Mr. Fincher said. “His familiarity with VSG through his prior role with Dover will add important perspective to VSG's operations and strategic growth initiatives.”

Calling VSG “an industry-leading company with a strong portfolio of brands,” Mr. Ytterdahl said he looked forward to “partnering with our suppliers to continue to provide our customers with world-class products and the highest levels of service and support.”

Mr. Ytterdahl received a Master's Degree in Engineering Physics from Chalmers University of Technology in Sweden and his joint MBA/SM Degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management in Cambridge, Mass.

Madison-based VSG comprises nine vehicle lifting and collision repair brands: Rotary Lift; Forward Lift; Direct-Lift; Hanmecson; Revolution Lift; Chief and Automotive Technologies; Elektron; Blitz; and nogra.
