BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (Aug. 26, 2014) — The “Ice Bucket Challenge” has hit Sullivan Tire & Auto Service.

On Aug. 18, the Sullivan Tire outlet in Bridgewater welcomed employees from the town's Signature Healthcare Medical Group and the Bridgewater Fire Department—which, naturally, provided the water—to douse themselves for the challenge that's sweeping the nation in support of the Washington, D.C.-based ALS Association. Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease—commonly referred to as “Lou Gehrig Disease”—that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord.

The group at Sullivan Tire's a little wetter than moments earlier after taking part in the ALS Association "Ice Bucket Challenge."

The enthusiastic group at the Sullivan Tire location, which included employees, doctors and fire fighters, raised $200 for the ALS cause. Signature Medical Group turned the challenge to its administration department, which will be completing the challenge this week, according to Sullivan Tire.

Since the ice bucket challenge became a nationwide phenomenon this summer, it has raised more than $50 million dollars for the ALS Association's research efforts.
