NEWNAN, Ga. (Aug. 20, 2014) — AAMCO Transmissions Inc., the transmission repair/total car care group, has broken ground in Newnan on its training facility for AAMCO technicians, managers and franchisees.
The center, located adjacent to the headquarters and factory of AAMCO partner Global Powertrain Systems in Newnan, is scheduled to open in January 2015.
The school will train employees using best-in-class curriculum to be in a position to continually deliver quality service along with guidance to a successful career path at AAMCO, the Horsham, Pa.-based company said.
“We are thrilled to officially begin development on AAMCO University,” said AAMCO President and CEO Brett Ponton at the groundbreaking Aug. 5. “The creation of the new training facility supports our business model to deliver the best possible customer experience through our highly trained team of experts.”
AAMCO did not disclose what it's investing in the facility, which will offer up to 60 people at a time both lecture and hands-on technical instruction, the latter in a simulated repair shop showcasing a real-life learning environment. A call center will field technical and sales questions.
“Another great benefit of AAMCO University is that it offers prospective AAMCO franchisees a first look at the operation and the company's commitment to best practices from an owner's view,” said Mike Ganjei, an AAMCO franchise owner and president of the National AAMCO Dealers Association.
AAMCO is the world's largest chain of transmission specialists and a leader in total car care services. There are more than 700 AAMCO automotive centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
