French tire pub, trade show acquired

PARIS (Aug. 18, 2014) — French publishing house Newsco Group has acquired the tire trade magazine “Le Pneumatique” and associated assets, including the rights to the “Pneu Expo” trade exhibiton.

Financial terms were not disclosed. Other assets include the trade magazines “Ingénieur de l'Automobile” and “Profession Carrossier” and their associated online presences as well as the standalone website “Autopresse.”

The Commercial Court of Versailles has approved Newsco's takeover offer by transfering the assets of Editions VB, which was in receivership, to Newsco, the Paris–based publishing group said.

Newsco Group said it intends to “enrich the content” of both magazines and supply multimedia. It also said it plans to organize a trade show/conference during the second half of 2015 for all stakeholders in the French tire sector.

VB Editions was forced to postpone the 2014 Pneu Expo earlier this year.

Newsco said “Le Pneumatique” is the only tire trade magazine published in France, coming out five times a year and going to 8,000 subscribers. It has been published for more than 25 years.

Overall, Newsco owns eight titles and five websites. Other magazines include “Electroniques”; “IT for Business”; “Point Banque”; and “Mesures.”
