ATLANTA (Aug. 7, 2014) — Zep Automotive, a unit of Zep Inc., has introduced its reformulated, non-chlorinated 50-state compliant brake cleaner featuring an ultra-low VOC content.
Zep said the patent-pending brake cleaner meets California ARB, OTC & LADCO VOC requirements. It quickly and easily removes brake fluid, oil, grease and other brake assembly contaminants from brake parts while also helping to silence disc brake squeal and chatter, according to the company.
“This new 50-state compliant formula enjoys a significant performance advantage over low-VOC products currently on the market,” said Joe Seladi, Zep group president.
The new formula is available in 20-oz. aerosol cans and 55-gallon containers.
According to Zep, the primary benefits of the cleaner include: superior cleaning of hard parts as well as linings; a powerful blasting spray which penetrates without disassembling the brakes; and it doesn't leave a residue.
The cleaner is available exclusively at Advance Auto Parts stores.
