DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (Aug. 6, 2014) — The Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) is adding an attraction at the conclusion of its 2014 trade show in Las Vegas that will celebrate top vehicles, personalities and equipment.
“SEMA Ignited” will take place on Friday, Nov. 7, the final day of the SEMA Show, and will showcase the “world's most unique and celebrated customized vehicles” from the event, according to the Diamond Bar-based association. The show—which is closed to the public Nov. 5-6—will be open to the public from 4 to 10 p.m. Nov. 7, with the “SEMA Cruise” occurring at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip immediately after SEMA closes the doors of the Las Vegas Convention Center on this year's show.
The event will include food, music, celebrities, iconic vehicle builders and exhibitor displays.
“'SEMA Ignited' is an extension of the SEMA Show that will allow exhibiting companies to gain additional media and consumer exposure for the acclaimed vehicles and innovative gear they bring to Las Vegas,” said Chris Kersting, SEMA president and CEO.
For the SEMA Cruise, hundreds of one-of-a-kind cars and trucks will congregate at the LINQ Promenade, Las Vegas's new open-air shopping, dining and entertainment district, which includes the world's tallest observation wheel, the High Roller, according to SEMA.
“This event will be a platform for a consumer and media blitz featuring the best of the 2014 SEMA Show,” Mr. Kersting added.
SEMA noted that the first-ever event “will give consumers a rare opportunity to collect and share images of hundreds of customized vehicles featuring the newest and most innovative products from the 2014 SEMA Show. The Friday night event will also serve as the backdrop for nationwide media coverage—including on-site taping for a nationally televised broadcast special—‘best of show' awards” and more.
Participation in the event is free of charge to exhibitors by virtue of their involvement in the show, SEMA said. For more details, interested parties should send an email to [email protected].
