MONROE, Mich. (July 23, 2014) — Tenneco Inc.'s Rancho performance suspension and shock technologies brand is sponsoring Tread Lightly!, the nonprofit dedicated to protecting and enhancing recreational access and opportunities through the promotion of responsible recreation via ethics education and stewardship programs.
“Tread Lightly! aligns perfectly with the Rancho brand and the absolutely critical need to educate enthusiasts who are using recreational trails and areas throughout the United States,” said Chris Gauss, director, performance brands, Tenneco.
“Tread Lightly! provides materials, programs and services within our industry that promise for a sustainable future for off-road driving.”
Tread Lightly! describes its mission as leading a national initiative to protect and enhance recreation access and opportunities by promoting outdoor ethics to heighten individuals' sense of good stewardship. Among its goals is seeking to balance the needs of people who enjoy outdoor recreation with society's need to maintain healthy ecosystems and thriving populations of fish and wildlife.
The Rancho brand has been delivering products geared toward the off-road market for nearly 60 years.
Tenneco did not quantify the value of its sponsorship.
Other major backers include: Falken Tire Corp. ($50,000 level); Discount Tire/America's Tire ($10,000); and Michelin North America's BF Goodrich brand ($5,000).
