LEVITTOWN, Pa. (July 3, 2014) — Gallagher Tire Inc. recently hosted its annual charity event, the Jack Gallagher ‘63 Memorial Outing, an event that supports worthwhile causes at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia.
The event is named for St. Joseph's University alum Jack Gallagher, founder and former president of Gallagher Tire, who retired in 2003 and died three years later.
Mr. Gallagher's son, J.P. Gallagher, is president of Gallagher Tire.
The dealership said this year marked the seventh annual outing that brings many alumni from St. Joe's, members of the Gallagher family and many key suppliers to Gallagher Tire.
The event typically raises between $10,000 and $15,000 annually, Gallagher Tire said, with this year's proceeds expecting to be on par with past years.
The dealership also uses proceeds from the event for the Go Hawks Fund, which supports scholarships for underrepresented high school students to attend St. Joseph's University, and assists the Kinney Center for Autism for Education and Support, also affiliated with St. Joseph's.
“Gallagher Tire is proud to be a part of a terrific event in honor of a great man—that ultimately provides support to some worthy causes,” said J.P. Gallagher.
“We are grateful to all that attended and to our great partners in the tire business that helped make this the best year ever.”
The outing took place on June 23 at Scotland Run Golf Club in Williamstown, N.J., the site of the event for the past four years.
Levittown-based Gallagher Tire is a wholesaler with distribution centers in Harrisburg and Levittown, Pa., and Liverpool, N.Y., and an office in Charlotte, N.C. It specializes in commercial, agricultural, industrial and OTR tires and wheels.
