Goodyear adds roadside towing service

AKRON (July 3, 2014) — Goodyear is adding TOW365, a 24/7 roadside towing service to provide stranded motorists with towing, to its Goodyear Tire & Service Network.

Using the service requires no sign-up or membership fee, Goodyear said, and towing rates are the same regardless of the day or time a motorist calls—even on holidays.

“For more than 100 years, Goodyear has been committed to keeping America moving,” said Marissa Zilch, Tire & Service Network marketing planner. “Our new TOW365 service will make it even easier for drivers to get back on the road quickly, with quality service from a name they can trust.”

To use TOW365, stranded motorists can call 1-877-GYR4TOW or arrange a pickup via the TOW365 app, which Akron-based Goodyear said is available for download at the Apple App Store or Google Play. In addition to instantly connecting drivers with towing assistance, the app can provide information on a vehicle's current location.

Once the vehicle has been towed, the tow fee is paid directly to the Tire & Service Network dealer, so there is no need to arrange payment with a tow truck driver, according to Goodyear.

The program covers all cars, light trucks and SUVs at $39.99 for tows up to 10 miles. Tows beyond that distance cost $59.99, with an additional cost of $3.75 per mile for tows of more than 20 miles, the tire maker said.
