JOHNSTOWN, Ohio — Tire Business Reporter Jennifer Karpus recently toured Tech International's new training facility at its headquarters in Johnstown, which opened for courses in December.

The new building has practically doubled the space to about 3,000 square feet from the old facility. Additional features include the potential for 12 full work stations for nail hole and section repair for passenger and truck tires, along with plenty of space for teaching OTR tire sector repair.

Courses taught at Tech International include OTR, commercial and passenger tire repairing.

The classroom has also been upgraded with a 70-inch flat screen TV that can house slide presentations and videos, along with the capability to be used as a whiteboard.

Tire repair materials and tools producer Tech International received a $100,000 grant and a job creation tax credit from the State of Ohio in July 2012 to support upgrades and expansion at the Johnstown facility.
