ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 13, 2014) — The Coordinating Committee for Automotive Repair (CCAR) and ShipMate Inc. have launched of an online safety course for employees in the automotive industry who handle hazardous chemicals.
CCAR offers hazardous chemicals course
The new course—GHS Hazard Communication Standard—is available on ShipMate's website. It is offered with a 12-month online subscription at the introductory price of $19 per individual or $99 per facility.
The course provides updated information from the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), which revised its Hazard Communication Standard to align with the United Nation's Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
CCAR provides information and resources for OEM dealers, collision repair centers, schools and mechanical service centers. ShipMate works with clients handling dangerous goods transportation, environmental management and safety issues.
