ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. (June 3, 2014) — The Automotive Maintenance & Repair Association (AMRA) has named Joseph M. Henmueller its interim president, replacing Barry Soltz, the group's president since mid-2008.
AMRA announced Mr. Henmueller's appointment and Mr. Soltz's departure June 2, giving no reason for the moves. AMRA will announce a permanent replacement for Mr. Soltz as soon as its board approves one, said AMRA Chair Lynn Parker.
“The board of directors thanks Mr. Soltz for his service and dedication to the association during his tenure, and wishes him great success in his future endeavors,” AMRA said in a press release.
Mr. Henmueller has a long association with AMRA and its Motorist Assurance Program (MAP). Most recently he was AMRA director of administration; before that, he served on the AMRA board and was co-chair of the AMRA/MAP Technical Committee.
Mr. Soltz joined AMRA/MAP on June 30, 2008, succeeding the retiring Larry Hecker. Before that, Mr. Soltz was a program manager for Carfax Inc. and president and CEO of the Automotive Engine Rebuilders Association.
