Bartec updates Tech500 TPMS tool

STERLING HEIGHTS, Mich. (May 16, 2014) — Bartec USA L.L.C. has released an update and an accessory for its Tech500 tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) tool.

The tweak gives the tool the ability to program “cub style” aftermarket sensors.

Branded cub programmable sensors such as the Smart Sensor, Multi-fit and Uni-Sensor can now be programmed, according to the company, by downloading Bartec's R51 software update and purchasing the firm's specially designed Cub Programming Fixture, which attaches to the Tech500 accessory port.

The updated tool allows technicians to program cub style sensors with the same tool they use to perform vehicle diagnostics and sensor relearn procedures. Integrating sensor programming with the diagnostic and relearn steps makes the process faster and accurate, Bartec said.

“Our TPMS tools have always offered our customers the greatest diagnostics and flexibility, and with this new feature the best gets even better,” said Michael Rose, Bartec product manager.

Bartec said new versions of the Cub Programming Fixture accessory will be available for its Tech400+ and Tech400SD tools in August.
