STOW, Ohio (May 1, 2014) — Employees of Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels will participate in a Day of Action June 20 in support of the Summit County United Way.
Each year many Mickey Thompson employees volunteer to participate in a special fundraising campaign for United Way, with the Day of Action established as a “day of work and fun” to aid local nonprofit health and human service agencies in Summit County, said Stow-based Max-Trac Tire Co., which does business as Mickey Thompson.
Volunteers may help with a variety of duties including cleaning up playgrounds and painting, reading to children, delivering meals to those in need and a variety of other projects that benefit the community.
In 2013, Mickey Thompson employees pitched in as volunteers and raised more than $10,000 — a 36-percent increase over the previous year's campaign — and were recently recognized for their achievement by the Summit County United Way, according to the private brand tire distributor, which is a subsidiary of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co.
