AKRON (April 15, 2014) — Tire industry veteran Ray Evans, most recently auto service chairman of the International Tire Exhibition & Conference (ITEC), has been named the outstanding engineering alumnus for 2014 by Pennsylvania State University's College of Engineering.
Mr. Evans, who has worked both in the manufacturing and distribution ends of the tire business over the past five decades, will be honored during an awards presentation April 22 at the university.
He has chaired the ITEC's aftermarket event for the past five years. Prior to that he was executive vice president of engineering, marketing and sales for Titan International Inc. and also held senior positions with the former BFGoodrich Co., the former Continental General Tire Co. and Gans Tire Co.
The award recognizes Penn State graduates for their success as leaders in their field and for the impact they have had and will continue to have on society and their profession. It is the highest honor bestowed by the College of Engineering, according to the university.
