CINCINNATIThere are tire stacks, and then there are really tall tire stacks. Just ask Tire Discounters Inc.
On March 27 the Cincinnati-based dealership unofficially broke the world record for the tallest tire stack with a single column of Falken-brand tires that reached 19.95 feet, with the measurements confirmed by an independent surveyor.
The previous world record of 19.77 feet was set in 2009 in Germany.
In partnership with Falken Tire Corp., Tire Discounters attempted the record to celebrate the grand re-opening of its first store in Cincinnati. The company said it has applied for the record with Guinness World Records, but has not officially broken the record until Guinness finalizes the process.
Tire Discounters Chairman and Founder Chip Wood said the event was the dealership's way of showing customers the great lengths that we're willing to go to in celebrating our history and earning their business.
