    Crosswind 4x4HP Horizon Tire Inc.

HOUSTON (April 4, 2014) — Commercial tire importer and distributor Horizon Tire Inc. has launched the Crosswind AP  for the sport- and crossover-utility vehicle and 4X4 segment in 28 sizes.

The Crosswind AP is made exclusively for the Houston-based company by China's Shandong Linglong Tyre Co. Ltd. and is being distributed via factory-direct container orders and through fill-in order back-up inventory through the firm's four U.S .warehouses—in Houston; Irwindale, Calif.; Norcross, Ga.; and Cranbury, N.J.

A company executive did not specify the line's 28 sizes that are available.

“In our ongoing effort to enhance our program line up to meet market segment growth trends and meet the SUV/CUV segment with our Crosswind brand, we have newly added HT, AP, and AT tread designs/sizes to address emerging popular replacement market demand,” said Dale Guerrieri, Horizon vice president of marketing.

According to its website, Horizon Tire first opened in Houston about 10 years ago, operating a 110,000-sq.-ft. distribution center there. It also opened a second office in Los Angeles with an 80,000-sq.-ft. warehouse, then added a 50,000-sq.-ft. distribution center in Atlanta. Overseas, the company has branch offices in Beijing and Qingdao, China, to facilitate manufacturing and source products from more than 10 Chinese tire manufacturing partners.

The company carries medium truck radial and bias tires; passenger and ultra-high-performance car tires; OTR radial and bias tires; industrial lug; light truck radial and bias; ST radial and bias; and agricultural tires. It plans to offer wheel products in the future.

More information about the Crosswind is available on Horizon's website.
