FORT MILL, S.C. (April 4, 2014) — Jaclyn “Jackie” Pobiega, marketing communications and public relations specialist for Continental Tire the Americas L.L.C. for the past five years, died in a traffic accident April 1 in Fort Mill. She was 36.
Ms. Pobiega's specialty was Conti's commercial vehicle tires business, where she helped double the unit's media exposure in North America during here time there, Conti said. She was a fixture at most trucking industry events, including the recent Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
Prior to joining Conti, Ms. Pobiega was marketing manager at C.P. Morgan, a copy writer for Areva Inc., and a marketing coordinator for Symbiot Business Group.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in journalism from the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism and the Honors Tutorial College at Ohio University in 1999 with a B.S.
Ms. Pobiega is survived by her husband Michael; children Robert (age 6) and Ellen (age 2); parents Diana and Lynn Hackenberg of Milford, Ohio; sisters Jennifer (Jason) Yode and Kim Hatton; niece Olivia Hatton; parents in-law Thomas and Rose Marie Pobiega of Solon, Ohio; sister in-law Melissa (Marin) Kos; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be Sunday, April 6, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. at Palmetto Funeral Home in Fort Mill, and a burial service will be held at there at 11 a.m. on April 7.
