NASHVILLE, Tenn. (April 3, 2014) — Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. has selected the run-flat version of the Bridgestone Ecopia H/L 422 Plus as an OE fitment for the “family package” on the 2014 Nissan Rogue S and SV models, according to Bridgstone Americas.

The family package versions of the Rogue crossover feature a third row of seats, which eliminates the space usually reserved for a spare tire, thereby necessitating the use of a run-flat tire.

Nissan is fitting these models with the Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT in size P225/65RF17 100H. The tire is manufactured at the company's plant in Tosu, Japan; Nissan assembles the Rogue at its plant in Smyrna, Tenn.

Mike Martini, president, original equipment, U.S. and Canada Consumer Tire Sales Division, Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, called the Rogue a “perfect vehicle to showcase the outstanding benefits of Bridgestone's Ecopia brand tires.”

The Ecopia H/L 422 Plus RFT is a self-supporting tire that provides extended mobility — up to 50 miles at a maximum speed of 50 mph at zero inflation pressure — while also delivering “impressive” dry, wet and all-season traction, he said.
