ITDG scores 'record year'

TEQUESTA, Fla. (March 28, 2014) — Chalk up a number of “milestones” for the Independent Tire Dealers Group (ITDG) in 2013.

After completing the Tequesta-based group's financial report for last year, President and CEO Michael Cox said the ITDG  is “very excited about the growth of the group in 2013. We had 22 new dealers join the group representing 101 total location in 16 different states.

“We are now represented in 34 states—with 500 plus locations—and are continuing to expand our footprint. This growth is a testament to the viability and acceptance of our program.”

Mr. Cox noted that the ITDG “established a few other new benchmarks,” including a record year for member purchases, a record year for new shareholders—adding 12—to bring the group's total to 90, and a record year for volume bonus and dividend payments to members and shareholders, totaling more than $7 million.

The group's exclusive Diamondback passenger/light truck tire line also continues to grow and complement the ITDG's offerings, Mr. Cox added. “It is helping fuel future growth of the group when combined with our other programs.”

He concluded that 2013 “was a great springboard” for the group as it heads into 2014—the 20th anniversary of the dealer organization's founding in Southern California in 1994.

The ITDG comprises more than 500 points of sale in 34 states.
