Wearing a cowboy hat and a wide grin, Brad Peterson flashes the winning key that allowed him to start the 2013 Firestone Edition Class 8 tractor.

LOUISVILLE (March 28, 2014) — Brad Peterson, an independent trucker from Wellington, Colo., is the new owner of the 2013 Firestone Edition Class 8 tractor.

He's the grand prize winner of the “Firestone Drives America Tour” conducted last year by Bridgestone Commercial Solutions.

Mr. Peterson, one of five finalists in the sweepstakes, thanked his wife Danielle during the prize drawing at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking show in Louisville for entering him in the contest. The finalists, selected at random from the hundreds who entered the contest, drew keys for the truck, and Mr. Peterson had the winning key. That allowed him to start the truck, which features Firestone-accented customized interior and exterior appointments.

Mr. Peterson also won an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the 2014 Indianapolis 500 Mile Race, assistance to help defray tax costs and up to a five years' supply of Firestone tires.

Bridgestone did not disclose the value of the truck or other prizes.

“Firestone is an iconic American brand with a rich history in trucking. This tour and sweepstakes allowed us to showcase our latest Firestone-brand…in a fun, unique manner across the country,” said Matthew Stevenson, vice president of marketing, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions.

The Drive a Firestone sweepstakes was open to drivers with a valid U.S. commercial driver's license (Class 8) and who owned or operated a Class 7 or 8 vehicle.

More about Firestone-brand tires is available on Bridgestone's website.
