NASHVILLE, Tenn. (March 21, 2014) — Bridgestone Commercial Solutions will announce the winner of its “Drive a Firestone” sweepstakes — the prize is a semi-truck and trailer — at this week's Mid-America Trucking Show in Lousville, Ky.

The sweepstakes, which launched last summer and closed in December, was part of an effort by Bridgestone to promote the Firestone brand and a refreshed Firestone product lineup to independent truckers.

Five finalists were selected at random and will be at MATS, where they will select a key to be used to start the truck at the tire maker's booth (No. 34415). The contest was open to drivers with a valid U.S. commercial driver's license (Class 8) and who own or operate a Class 7 or 8 vehicle.

The finalist using the key that starts the truck's engine is the vehicle's grand prize winner. The key start will take place at 3 p.m. on March 27.

The Firestone promotional tour coincided with the launch of three rolling-resistance-reduced Firestone truck tires—the FS591 steer, FD691 drive, and FT491 all-position radials—which are all SmartWay-verified fuel-efficient components under Environmental Protection Agency's SmartWay program and CARB-compliant under California's Air Resources Board specifications, Bridgestone said at the time.

Bridgestone also will have singer/songwriter Phil Vassar and Alex Debogorski, of Ice Road Truckers fame, at its booth during the show. Mr. Vassar will perform twice on the 27th, and Mr. Debogorski will be on hand to sign autographs and pose for photos the afternoon of March 28.

“(Messrs.) Vassar and Debogorski's appearances at the booth this year are sure to add to the excitement as the grand prize winner of the Drive a Firestone Sweepstakes is revealed,” said Matthew Stevenson, vice president of marketing, Bridgestone Commercial Solutions.
