FALLS CHURCH, Va. (March 20, 2014) — The Tire Retread & Repair Information Bureau (TRIB) plans to give away more than $10,000 worth of retreading services at the 2014 Mid-America Trucking Show next week in Louisville, Ky., in its “Spot the Retreads” contest.

Visitors to TRIB's booth (13036) at the show can enter the contest by trying to distinguish new vs. retreaded tires on display during the March 27-29 event at the Kentucky Exposition Center.Participants who correctly identify all the tires will be entered into daily drawings for sets of eight commercial truck tires to be retreaded on the participants' own casings. Falls Church-based TRIB plans to award seven sets of retreads during the show, with a combined value of more than $10,000.

“Investing in retreaded tires always makes sense given the massive economic and environmental benefits they offer,” said TRIB Managing Director David Stevens.

“But in an environment where raw material prices for tires continue to increase and fuel prices continue to rise, retreaded tires make even more sense, whether you are an owner-operator with one truck or a fleet with hundreds.”

TRIB hopes the contest will help demonstrate to showgoers the quality of the retreaded tires, Mr. Stevens said.

Several TRIB Members are providing retreading services for winners at the show: AcuTread Alliance Group; Bridgestone Bandag Tire Solutions; Continental Tire the Americas' Goodyear; Marangoni Tread North America; Michelin Retread Technologies; and Michelin's Oliver Rubber Co. unit.
