Atturo hooks up with Hunter Racing for Lucas Oil series

LOS ANGELES (March 19, 2014) — Atturo Tire Corp. has entered the racing scene with its sponsorship of the Hunter Racing team in the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series for 2014.

Hunter Racing will compete in the Pro Lite class of the Lucas Oil Off Road series with drivers Eric Hunter and Ronnie Faisst. Lake Villa, Ill.-based Atturo said it also will be a contingency sponsor for the full Lucas Oil Off Road professional and regional race series.

The Lucas Oil series is, according to Atturo, one of the premier programs for short course off road racing. The schedule includes nine race weekends with television broadcasts on Mav TV, CBS and CBS Sports Network—all told, more than 70 hours of TV coverage this year.

Atturo said it will field its Trail Blade M/T tire featuring a knife blade-inspired tread design to showcase strength and a high level of traction.

Michael Mathis, vice president of Atturo, said the tire marketer will focus on the Pro Lite class in the Lucas series “because they require DOT tires. The Trail Blade M/T on the Hunter Racing truck is the exact same tire we sell every day. We believe that great tires do not have to cost a lot of money.

“This will be an excellent venue to prove how the Atturo Trail Blade M/T keeps performance within reach.”

This is the third year for Hunter Racing competing in the Lucas Off Road Series. Eric Hunter started in the Superlite class before stepping up to Pro Lite in 2013. He already has a podium and several top-10 finishes in the series.

“The short course track is a pretty harsh environment for a tire,” Mr. Hunter said in an Atturo press release. “The Trail Blade really performs great with the sidewall tread blades giving excellent lateral grip out of the corners as the truck rotates around.”

Mr. Hunter will drive in the full professional series as well as select regional events, Atturo said.

Hunter Racing's second driver is new to short course off road racing but not new to the dirt, according to Atturo. Mr. Faisst is a multiple medal winner in the X-Games and professional freestyle motocross rider.

In addition to the nine professional race events, Lucas Oil Off Road presents regional race series in Arizona, California, Nevada and Utah. Drivers who win on Atturo in any of these events will qualify to receive free tires to continue their season with the tire marketer, according to Atturo.

The first race of the season is March 22-23 at Wild Horse Motorsports Park in Chandler, Ariz.
