COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (March 18, 2014) — Jim Brown has been named vice president of commercial products for Omaha Standard Palfinger.

In his new position, effective March 4, Mr. Brown will oversee the engineering and customer activities related to Omaha Standard Palfinger (OSP) branded products.

As the “voice of the customer,” according to Palfinger North America Group, Mr. Brown will continue to lead the company's new product development as well as manage all commercial aspects of OSP's business.

He began his employment with Omaha Standard Inc. in 2000 as an inside sales representative. In 2002, he was promoted to a regional management role and in 2009 became product manager over all OSP-branded products.

“We are fortunate to have Jim in this role to clearly translate the voice of the customer into solid business strategies, strong customer relationships and innovative products,” said Mark Whaley, president of OSP. “Jim has assembled an incredible team that shares a focused vision on leading the industry, as was clearly displayed at the recent NTEA Work Truck Show in Indianapolis.”

Omaha Standard Palfinger, established in 1926, is a manufacturer of service/utility bodies, platform bodies, hydraulic hoists, hydraulic liftgates and other equipment for commercial trucks. OSP markets its products through 175 truck equipment distributors across the country as well as in Mexico and Canada. In 2008, Omaha Standard was acquired by Palfinger.

The Palfinger North America Group was formed following Palfinger's acquisitions of MBB Interlift, Omaha Standard Inc. and Automated Waste Equipment. The group has five manufacturing locations, 10 wholly owned distribution locations and a staff of more than 600 employees servicing the North and Latin American markets.
