ESSEX, England (March 11, 2014) — Toyo Tire & Rubber Co. Ltd. has become the latest tire manufacturer to join the United Kingdom's non-profit tire safety lobby TyreSafe.
Toyo joins TyreSafe's other supporters—which include car and tire manufacturers, retailers, emergency services and public sector organizations—to help raise awareness about the dangers associated with illegal and defective tires. The organization was established in 2006.
As part of its membership, Toyo will support the campaigns TyreSafe has planned for 2014 which include those targeting motorcyclists, young drivers, heavy goods vehicles operators, as well as marking October as Tire Safety Month, which this year will focus on tread depth.
TyreSafe Chairman Stuart Jackson said: “Safety already plays a key part of Toyo offering detailed care and safety advice for drivers on its website. Now that it's joined TyreSafe, we will be able to work closely together and offer even more education to its customers, further spreading the tire safety message.”
The organization's Tire Safety Month campaign in 2013 was its biggest and most successful to date, with record levels of engagement and participation, according to TyreSafe, which also launched its inaugural TyreSafe Awards, celebrating the activities and achievements of a wide range organizations in encouraging better tire care and maintenance.
